KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install. This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11. I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail. The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday). Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution? After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error. I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have done step 2 but there is no solution :(

Trying the above steps, also trying fiddling with hide/unhide/check/etc ... still not installing ...
Same here.
The two new updates (KB 2976627 and KB3032369) appear and are installed properly.
After that KB3038314 still fails to Install
EVen after hiding and restoring again and again.
I just remembered that I did run CCleaner at some point. I thought it was before I made any progress at all. It only removed about 50MB of temp files, and did not seem to make a difference. The other thing I did was to make sure I opened IE and got rid of the first time run stuff. I disabled the Live bar when it asked. I wish I knew better what I did to fix it, but I only tried a few things.
Same error for me. Fresh install of Win 7 Home Premium, all other updates install OK. IE 11. Tried manual download and install, no luck. KB3032359 (what 3038314 replaces) installs ok.
funny thing, even though Microsoft update reports as a fail, looking at Internet explorer in "About Internet Explorer" tab, it shows Update version 11.0.18 (KB3038314)......odd, so maybe failure is false being reported?
