KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install.  This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11.  I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail.  The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday).  Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?  After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error.  I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

Still doesn't work have not had one issue until today when I had to do a fresh install of Windows and after I did it the first time I went to install all updates before anything else and had the problem installing this and then tried it again and still have the issue.

Looks like Microsoft just updated the patch notes:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3038314?wa=wsignin1.0

"If you receive this error message, click About Internet Explorer on the Help menu to determine whether the security update was installed. If the Update Versions line shows KB3038314, this indicates that the security update is correctly installed and that the system is not in an unprotected state.

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.

    "

Thanks Bacon.....  This is the final answer.  So many people said, if you uninstall and re-install and make sure not select 3038314 until after you have 11 installed...  Those worked but if we can just "hide" this errant request to install it again then "Why NOT !! ??"  Thanks for pointing out MS Said... "It's all good, just ignore this if it is really in there."  That what I'm doing and moving on with life.

    Ken
