KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install. This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11. I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail. The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday). Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution? After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error. I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Same problem here. Installed System Update Readiness Tool and it installed without errors. Only thing different is the error code I'm getting now. Was error code 800F081F and now it's 80092004.
Does microsoft read these problems or just ignore the trouble they create?

I had experienced the issue as so many others have.What I did to solve the issue was to open IE
11 Command Bar clicked on help down to About Internet Explorer Clicked on the KB # brought me to the Download Page manually downloaded the update and installed. BTW I have it unchecked to automatically update IE that may or may not have anything to do with my sucess.

So I have finally got off the phone and computer and have been told by their level 3 techs, there at this time no fix for the issue and will be working on the issue.
Dear Dee, so many thanks for sharing this. Let's hope they sort out a fix soon. I also have problems opening downloads eg menus from internet. Photos are ok to download. Any ideas? I use a laptop Microsoft

Except at the end it does not show rechecking windows updates, which in my case brings the problem update back. So no fix for me.
