KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install.  This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11.  I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail.  The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday).  Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?  After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error.  I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

I have already tried both methods,  I have also tried using the Microsoft windows update catalog to download and install.

IE11 shows as having the update installed, However it keeps requesting the update to install and keeps failing.

For newly built Windows 7 computers, that was what I found as well.  However, the interesting part is that when I searched through the installed updates, I could not find KB3038314.  This probably fooled Windows Update as it continued to offer it.  It seemed that some other IE update might have created the IE11 KB3038314 version.

IE11 (KB3038314) version also created another issue,  I found that I could no longer add any search provider through IEgallery.com.  After I selected the search provider and clicked the "Add to Internet Explorer" button, nothing would happen.  This impacted all my Windows computers, including those running Windows 8.1.  On one VM that was running Windows 7, after I had uninstalled KB3038314, IE11 was rolled backed to KB3032359 version and the ability to add search providers was restored.
