KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install.  This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11.  I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail.  The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday).  Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?  After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error.  I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

I have initialized a number of Win7 machines in the last few days.  In every case, when I was finished and tried to change the search provider to Google, I could not.

I just had another to initialize another.  On initial startup, IE8 was installed.  I changed the search provider to Google without a problem.  Then after IE11 was installed, KB3038314 failed as described a few hundred times in this posting.

I suspect the reason it has failed in this particular case relates to the fact that Google was already set as search provider.

I have "hidden" this update, along with the highly objectionable KB3035583 one.

Hi here is the fix for this issue ...

    http://goo.gl/n63EMG

Just uninstall the IE 11 and install update .... as shown in video. hope it will help ;) ... please like if this help you ;)

I tried your method but it didn't work.

    1. Downloaded IE11 installer
    2. Uninstalled IE11 + reboot (left IE8)
    3. Forced search updates to avoid KB3038314 for IE11 (not needed as shown in your video)

If you try to install KB3038314 for IE10 (followed your link), it said 'not appied for your system' cause I have IE8.

    1. Installed KB3038314 for IE8 via Windows updates + reboot
    2. Installed IE11 from standalone installer + reboot
    3. Forced search updates.
    4. Tried to install KB3038314 for IE11 : FAILED.
