KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install.  This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11.  I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail.  The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday).  Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?  After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error.  I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

Hello. When you install this update, I have no errors. But some users who are faced with this problem have solved it like this:

    1. delete KB3045999 without rebooting

    2. install the KB3022345 without rebooting

    1. install KB3045999 and reboot

    Also then

    DISM.exe**/online/Cleanup-image/Restorehealth**

    SFC.exe**/scannow**

Do you think this could be the solution?

    Have the same issue.

     - Code 80092004

     - Windows7x64 Ultimate SP1

     - IE 11

     - Antivirus ESET NOD Smart Security 8

I had no problem with kb3038314,

After the kb3038314 installation, opportunity to make a third-party search engine, the searcher by default disappeared, on it thought that if the third-party searcher by default is established, perhaps it blocks the kb3038314 installation

    And operating system same,

    MSE works only for me.

    Thanks,

I just found this article ...

    http://news.softpedia.com/news/KB3038314-Issues-Possible-Workaround-Found-479143.shtml

    seems reasonable

I had a bunch of updates kept failing to install.

    such as ...

KB2923545 RDP - update for the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) 8.1

KB3020388 RDP - MS15-004: Description of the security update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 if the Remote Desktop Connection 8.1 client update is installed: January 13, 2015

KB3021952 IE - MS15-009: Description of the security update for Internet Explorer: February 10, 2015

KB3036493 RDP - MS15-030: Description of the security update for Remote Desktop protocol: March 10, 2015

then after taken advice in that article:

     - install them all without KB3038314 together,

    they all installed successfully!!

    Hi, everybody!

Try to remove everything third-party browser, dump the IE parameters by default as kb3038314 forbids installation of third-party searchers.

    Sorry, for machine translation.
