PC games not in fullscreen in Windows 10

I nned help with PC Games not in fullscreen when the resolution is on 1024x768 and the Intel Control Panel does not give me an option to switch to full screen when in 1920x1080 resolution and switching the screen resolution to lower and set to scale fullscreen, launch the game and still not in full screen.

Same problem here. Not only games that do not have the same resolution as desktop screen but also some games that do. And they all work well on Windows 7 and Windows 8. Guess we have to wait for Windows 10 to be mature

[EDIT: May '17 - It looks like MS has returned control of screen scaling to the graphics driver Control Panel

options with the 1703 update.

You can now do as with previous Windows and force full screen when running games that use a resolution

that is native to a 4:3 aspect ratio, eg- 1024x768.

This is all nonsense, I've paid hundreds of pounds for my computer & all it's upgrades, spent time setting things right for my use of my computer. I've used Windows since it's introduction to the public, plenty of new OS that were awful, but I could always transfer my files & settings. Then just get used to the new OS layout, no problem. Now they want to amalgamate all Windows OS to a single standard, I use an Android smart phone because it's just a bloody phone with toys & adverts & store & apps to purchase. Microsoft want some of that, so I'll stick with 7. It's like XP, the one you left without knowing how much you'd miss it. If they as likely discontinue any unprofitable Windows 7 users, fine I can use Linux & just stop playing games.

Thank you very much for your explanation, very helpful. That means all the old games i love so much do not work. I tried everything, lower my screen resolution ... but could not find a solution.

By the way I think that concept mentioned above is kinda stupid. What benefits do we PC users have from it? Annoying. I was stupid to delete my old Windows backup and now i have to reinstall everything. And the way Windows 10 save those backup files is stupid too, they should let us choose which drive to save/restore backups, not C drive.

Since this issue is not happening to me, can I get some more details? So far I've gotten:

Intel HD 4000

AMD R9 Series

1080p desktop resolution - is that correct?

Games: Diablo, Heretic 2 -> please post more if possible, any newer games?

What happens if you just leave the intel or AMD control panel with none of these settings and just change the screen resolution in the game?
