For what it is worth, I installed KB3004394 on another Windows 7 x64 Ultimate system and have found no issues so far.
I do not know what the difference is between the two computers as yet.

Windows update KB3004394 causes the following issues on my Windows 7 x64 Ultimate system:
All MMC functions (Event Viewer, etc.) now require Administrator action, although in an Administrator account.
Windows Defender service will not start
The Windows Defender Service Terminated with the following error

Removing it returns the system to normal.
Anyone else experience this?

(Got following message: "Display driver error The video playback device does not support playback of protected content.")
Restored to 12/6/14, then found forum on "The Green Button" isolating the culprit as KB3004394

Reinstalled updates leaving that one out. Everything works again.
KB3004394 caused the same Windows Media Center problem for me on: Win7 Home Premium x86 sp1

Open CMD as Administrator and "wusa /uninstall /kb:3004394" (without "")

2014-12-10T21:41:50+00:00 I have Windows 7 64 bit and I am having the same issue. I cannot install any updates after KB3004394. I have to uninstall it and reboot to finish installing updates. I would get error code 800706F7 which I could find no information about.
I didn't notice any other issues, but this is a new computer and always start out configuration with Windows updates. Took me too long to figure it out.
