Windows update KB3004394 issues

Windows update KB3004394  causes the following issues on my Windows 7 x64 Ultimate system:

All MMC functions (Event Viewer, etc.) now require Administrator action, although in an Administrator account.

Windows Defender service will not start

The Windows Defender Service Terminated with the following error

%%-2147023113

Removing it  returns the system to normal.

Anyone else experience this?

    I am having an issue with KB3004394 also.

    After I install it, I can't install any other Windows Updates. I get an error message on Windows Update. I have already did some advanced troubleshooting and narrowed the problem down to KB3004394.

    The update itself installs fine, but after a reboot, no other Windows Updates will install. As soon as I clicked Install Updates on other updates, it goes right to a red X and error message.

    Removing the update and rebooting allows all other updates to complete as usual.

    Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium + All Updates except for KB3004394.

    FWIW I cannot reproduce your findings regarding KB3004394 - also using Win7 Ult x64.

    Thanks for posting this. Having just updated an SBS 2011 server with this KB, I was quite disappointed to see that every MMC applet caused a UAC prompt.

    As you suggest, removing this update restores normal functionality.

    Saved me from removing the other nine Windows Updates from today, that I was about to, in an effort to resolve this issue.

    I'm also having problems with update KB3004394. everytime I try running taskmngr it kept asking that an unknown program wanted to make changes. I try going to msconfig and got the same thing, then went to UAC settings and got the same alert. basically everything that had to do with Microsoft UAC gave me an alert that an unknown program wanted to make changes to my pc . so I did some research and found out that it had to do with the update KB3004394. as soon as I figured it out I uninstall it and now everything is back to normal

    I had trouble with this update also.  I restored my pc from a back-up, then installed the recent updates one at a time until I narrowed it down to KB 3004394.  To me this basically made windows 7 pro x64 ( my OS) into Windows Vista.  I uninstalled the update and blocked it.  Everything is back to normal.  I don't know what the intention of this update was, I hope Microsoft would shine some light on it with more info.
