Windows update KB3004394 issues

Windows update KB3004394  causes the following issues on my Windows 7 x64 Ultimate system:

All MMC functions (Event Viewer, etc.) now require Administrator action, although in an Administrator account.

Windows Defender service will not start

The Windows Defender Service Terminated with the following error

%%-2147023113

Removing it  returns the system to normal.

Anyone else experience this?

    I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, and I was unfortunate enough to get the KB3004394 update. After finally managing to uninstall it, I was forced into installing KB3024777.

    Only one issue remains after uninstalling 3004394, and that is the "Windows Genuine Advantage" window that pops up about 2-3 times a day. My copy of Windows is Genuine, as I've had this computer since 2011. Has the 3004394 update permanently corrupted a system file? If I have to, I will do a system restore that will undo the December "updates", since this "windows is not genuine" notification hasn't appeared until I did this month's updates.

    Below is my update history, if that helps any.

    I'm not a techie and so, I can't discuss the issue on thiat level but, let me share my consumer experience with the updates downloaded on December 12th. My laptop is a top of the line Samsung running Winwows 8 downgraded to 7.

    Last Friday morning, I rebooted as requested after the MS updates had downloaded and upon the reboot, my Samsung laptop would no longer recognize my password.  I was locked out.  So, under the guidance of a Samsung Tech,  I rebooted again only then to find that the keyboard and track pad were now frozen -I couldn't even negotiate my way into Safe Mode.  Now the laptop (thankfully still under warranty) is winging it's way back to Samsung for repairs.  Horrible experience.

    It seems that I have a restore point from the day I installed it, I will restore to that point and hopefully that fixes it, otherwise gonna have to delve further into it.

    P.S. the reason for the patch for the patch is that is the most automated way to get a faulty patch off.  Walking people through programs and features to remove an update - you can see for yourself that it's not the easiest thing to do.

    I'm sad that there's no official Microsoft presence in this thread.  I'm sad that there's no spokesman here giving additional guidance.  I don't get the logic of their lack of guidance in the consumer forums in the first place, Noel.

    My gut feels like it's more OEM related.
