Windows update KB3004394 issues
Windows update KB3004394 causes the following issues on my Windows 7 x64 Ultimate system:
All MMC functions (Event Viewer, etc.) now require Administrator action, although in an Administrator account.
Windows Defender service will not start
The Windows Defender Service Terminated with the following error
%%-2147023113
Removing it returns the system to normal.
Anyone else experience this?

2014-12-10T23:20:35+00:00 Two thoughts.
- I haven't read everything in full in this thread - it's getting way too long! But I have not seen anyone post saying that they tried the update again. Just maybe Microsoft spotted the problem quickly and the KB I installed (and Jetta48) was a fixed version?
- As I pointed out in one of my earlier posts, I do all MU whilst logged on as the administrator. I cannot think of a reason why this should make a difference (except maybe historically) but I do it anyway. I do the same for all software installations. I mention it as something that I do that might well be different to most people's practice.

2014-12-10T23:04:17+00:00 I am going to take that back for windows 8 and windows 7 . It breaks Office 365 and Office 2013
I tried to do the ms update and it failed, came back saying there was a network issue- NOT. I uninstalled the kb and all is well now! This both happened on my windows 8 machine and windows 7

2014-12-10T22:52:03+00:00 It appears to be only a Windows 7/Server 2008 r2 issue.
