KB3004394 (link below) is an update that updates (or changes) the Windows root certificate program, basically:
The Windows Root Certificate Program enables trusted root certificates to be distributed automatically in Windows. Usually, a client computer polls root certificate updates
(http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/931125)
once a week. After you apply this update, the client computer can receive urgent root certificate updates within 24 hours.
Prerequisites are listed:
To install this update, you must install update 2919355 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2919355) in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. Or, install Service Pack 1(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976932) for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
I hope this helps in troubleshooting/ resolving the issue...
Hi there,
Since installing the root certificate update on Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 (German), I am not able to launch a lot of digitally signed software (Tools, Utilities, Games,...). Also all system executables appear to be unsigned now.
I can't access any interface to remove the update - opening the software management results in nothing - there is no visible window. System restore is disabled on my machine, so my question is: Is there any way to uninstall this update using the command line?
