My old games- spider solitaire, freecell, and mohjong titans.

Hello,

I upgraded from 7 to 10 and now I am missing my games file that had the old games such as spider solitaire, freecell, and mohjong titans.  Is there anyway to get them back other than what is in the app store?

From what I saw on the app store there are around 138 versions of Mohjong Titans, some with low ratings, some with high ratings.  I tried a couple different ones and found them to be covered with advertisements.  I would also like to play without having to be online all the time.

I would appreciate a note of how to get my regular games back on- or on how I can send Microsoft a note of disappointment.

    No, but I've taken business law.  Of which it's a basic principle that when I walk into a store, put down money, and walk out with a product, the deal is complete (neither side has the right to impose additional terms after that time).  Thus your so-called license agreement isn't worth the paper it's written on.  It is merely an attempt to fool the consumer into believing he doesn't own what he has, in fact, bought and paid for.

    You agreed to the license terms by using the software.  The EULA is in force on first use, not at the time the computer is purchased.  Do you really think that Microsoft doesn't have this covered?   You bought a computer, but you didn't buy the operating system.

    What do you mean "People who want the games from Windows 7 on Windows 10 will get the games from Windows 7 on Windows 10 (since they know it is possible)".  I don't know it's possible.  I have found no way to do it and I can't find you telling me how to do it.!

    I told you exactly what to google for and even mentioned the site's name - but I cannot link to it - house rules.  If you cannot figure it out from information already given, you wouldn't be able to figure out with the step-by-step instructions available how to do it and should just return to Windows 7 and stay there as long as you need to for the games.  ;-)

    So - your best bet (if you want to keep the newer OS and do not like the 'replacements' for the games in question) is to use one of the many methods posted out there (even on sites like howtogeek where there are August 2012 articles about What Happened to Solitaire and Minesweeper in Windows 8) to make the games work under Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10.  The instructions are the same (pretty much) no matter which of those three OSes you have - and they work.  They involve 'hex editing' the actual executables, thus why a direct link or instructions cannot be given here (house rules.)

    Hopefully you will be able to get what you want, just perhaps not in the manner which you want it.
