My old games- spider solitaire, freecell, and mohjong titans.

Hello,

I upgraded from 7 to 10 and now I am missing my games file that had the old games such as spider solitaire, freecell, and mohjong titans.  Is there anyway to get them back other than what is in the app store?

From what I saw on the app store there are around 138 versions of Mohjong Titans, some with low ratings, some with high ratings.  I tried a couple different ones and found them to be covered with advertisements.  I would also like to play without having to be online all the time.

I would appreciate a note of how to get my regular games back on- or on how I can send Microsoft a note of disappointment.

Thank you.

Then perhaps you did not understand the meaning behind the reply.  It was not to find a substitute version of the games you want, but to follow the instructions found out there for making the OLD games work.  If you upgraded from Windows 7, the files still exist (for the first 30 days after you upgrade) for the games - they are just programmed to verify the version of Windows they are starting up on.

Hope that helps explain things a bit.  While I cannot point to instructions and the likes, there are some out there that work.  Just takes a little effort OR knowing someone who could do that for you... But the end results might look like this:

    Wait...

Did you say, " . . . The negative reviews of this new operating system are predominantly negative . . . "

    *grin*

That's funny.  Hard to argue against too.  Almost a built-in guarantee.

Anyway, I don't see as many bad reviews as Windows 8 or Windows Vista.  Actually, I see less than even Windows XP had in its first year or so of life (relatively.)

    Windows 10 reviews [ https://www.google.com/#q=Windows+10+reviews ]

I'd say it is fairly mixed.

The growth rate would be remarkable (what was the claim?  75 million upgrades or systems running Windows 10 after the first month?) if one couldn't probably just play it off to "it was free" or "people's misunderstanding of the difference between an upgrade and an update/patch" or just to the fact that it was easy enough for people to CLICK something and get it as opposed to all the other times when they had to do a BIT more than click on a AD built into their computer's OS.

It's all a game of opinions, like any product.  What one person likes, 10 others may dislike; what one person dislikes, 10 others may like.  Dislikers are historically louder than likers.  ;-)

    jenith -

thanks for the reply.  i have tried the ones offered by microsoft.  the free cell does not allow game selection, so it is not possible to go to the next game in the number sequence.  also, the game has forced moves.  if there is a destination for an individual card, or a block of cards, the program decides placement.  my wife has the older version on her laptop - can i download it and then upload to my computer?

the new version is NOT an improvement.  The microsoft help desk replied that, if i wanted the old version, i should just go back to my previous windows configuration.  how arrogant and petty.

Not like the contracted helpdesk employees could do anything else but tell you the facts of the current situation that actually started three years ago with the release of Windows 8...

I am upset with windows as well. I hate  windows 10!!!!!!!  I enjoyed playing my FreeCell just the way it was. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. Now I can't play FreeCell at ALL and listen to my music. Instead, they want me to play FreeCell with an ugly board and a timer. Who does that???!?!?!?! A timer!?!?!? . Isn't it enough that I am already paying for my internet? No, not for windows. Now its "pay to play" like a pimp! They want me to pay to enjoy a game ????? REALLY Windows!?!?!?! I am so disappointed with this so called "upgrade". Now I understand why they call it an "upgrade". The "upgrade" is to "upgrade" their pockets with my cash. "Upgrade" them from a boat to a yacht, from a house to a mansion, from a walk on the beach to owning the beach. Well I can't afford you Windows. No thank you!!! I am so disgusted with Windows!
