Jenith_James of Microsoft, I agree with other posters. I learned to love the Microsoft games included with Windows 7; especially Majong Titans, Solitaire, Spider Solitaire, and Freecell. When I initially upgraded to Windows 10 they all disappeared from my PC! That was NOT ok with me and I was able to find a link to an executable file which reinstalled all the Windows 7 games on Windows 10. (Search for "Win7GamesForWin10-Setup.exe" - it worked). They have all worked FINE for nearly a year since then! On September 21, 2016, an automatic update to Windows 10 was applied which sniffed those games out and deleted them again! I then restored my PC to an earlier state so that update was removed and I could see just what was done and then see if I could do something to get the games back. Then I allowed the update to be reapplied. To get the games back I just ran that executable again and success!! The games were restored and once again worked FINE. I have played them several times in the last 24 hours but Microsoft, you have done it again and you are REALLY starting to annoy me now!! The apps/shortcuts are still visible this time but none of the games will execute now!
Microsoft, those games DO WORK on Windows 10! I believe that you are just insisting that we play new versions where we have to be online and are bombarded with ads in the new versions. You are in effect saying that we do not care what you want you cannot play the old versions without ads and we are going to FORCE you to go to the new ones if you want to play at all! This arrogant attitude is going to lose you more and more customers and supporters! This is why I will never try or buy any Windows Phone! You just don't understand that to get people to adopt the new games with ads, just design them so much better than the old ones that we won't mind the ads on the new ones! There are some that I willingly play with ads! But when you take away the old ones to try to force us to use new substandard glitch crappy games, you are making stupid changes, not smart ones!
My solution to Microsoft's arrogance is that I am going to keep one old laptop frozen with pre 9/21/16 Windows and allow NO further updates to that laptop - and I will continue to enjoy those games offline on that laptop. But I am looking for a way to ditch Microsoft altogether in the future. I am retired now so no longer tied to Windows for work compatibility, and there are just 2 or 3 programs left which I like and use which would not be available to me under Apple/ Mac. But it really annoys me when Microsoft deliberately and forcibly removes my games, and I will be looking a lot harder at making Apple work for me now!!
