Can't send email, keep getting server error 3219, Windows Live Mail error 0x8DE00005

I just recently started getting this error when using Live Mail synced with my hotmail account

Server Error: 3219

Server: http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync\_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00005

Looked for solutions online and tried most of the suggestions, but most are several years old and no longer apply since the switch to Outlook.

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00005

The error codes indicate that this Outlook.com account has been upgraded to the new version. Please sign into the account at http://mail.live.com; you should see something like the Outlook Mail banner shown here in the top left-hand corner of the window:

This means that you can't use DeltaSync to access this account any more, because Outlook Mail is not provisioned for it. You'll find step-by-step instructions for setting up the account to use IMAP instead on this page:

If you sign in in Windows Live Mail with this account, you'll find that the calendar will no longer synchronize.

    I tried the fix given with the link a few post up with my WLM and it does work.

    Very carefully follow the instructions.

    i also have Win10 with the anniversary update and still at my desire can run any of the three email programs. WLM, Win10 Mail, Thunderbird.

    so if it doesn't work try again very carefully and slowly. Like one post stated, if you miss just one criteria, you WILL miss its ability to download messages.

    Although this doesn't fix the problem, I did find that Mozilla Thunderbird work quite well.
