Can't send email, keep getting server error 3219, Windows Live Mail error 0x8DE00005

I just recently started getting this error when using Live Mail synced with my hotmail account

Server Error: 3219

Server: http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync\_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00005

Looked for solutions online and tried most of the suggestions, but most are several years old and no longer apply since the switch to Outlook.

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00005

The error codes indicate that this Outlook.com account has been upgraded to the new version. Please sign into the account at http://mail.live.com; you should see something like the Outlook Mail banner shown here in the top left-hand corner of the window:

This means that you can't use DeltaSync to access this account any more, because Outlook Mail is not provisioned for it. You'll find step-by-step instructions for setting up the account to use IMAP instead on this page:

If you sign in in Windows Live Mail with this account, you'll find that the calendar will no longer synchronize.

       ... where is the Microsoft option to set the default email to Outlook?    

    1. Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel
    2. Find and open Default programs
    3. Click Set your default programs
    4. Select your preferred version of Outlook in the left-hand column and click Set this program as default
    5. Click OK, close the control panel windows and restart the computer.

    apparently, a Microsoft engineer / tech helped me to tell me that windows live mail 2012 is no longer supported in the latest windows 10 update

    ... also the Microsoft tech could not come up with a better email client from Microsoft that was not so slowwwwwwwwwwww as the email client that came with windows 10 ....

    compared to windows live mail 2012 when it was working, the new windows 10 email client is not much faster than snail mail when Microsoft msn offered dialup years ago with a slow phone line ...

    it takes so long to get through all the emails, that I had to cancel many email advertisements from many local stores in the community so I can get through the mail faster ... !!!

    Here is the fix for windows live mail 2012  windows 10 with this error code on an email account. READ CAREFULLY, missing just one step will not fix the issue.
