I just recently started getting this error when using Live Mail synced with my hotmail account

Server Error: 3219

Server: http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync\_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00005

Looked for solutions online and tried most of the suggestions, but most are several years old and no longer apply since the switch to Outlook.

Server Error: 3219

Server: http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync\_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00005

The error codes indicate that this Outlook.com account has been upgraded to the new version. Please sign into the account at http://mail.live.com; you should see something like the Outlook Mail banner shown here in the top left-hand corner of the window:

This means that you can't use DeltaSync to access this account any more, because Outlook Mail is not provisioned for it. You'll find step-by-step instructions for setting up the account to use IMAP instead on this page:

Windows Live Mail and Outlook Mail

If you sign in in Windows Live Mail with this account, you'll find that the calendar will no longer synchronize.

You should've referred the questioner to your post.

She wrote Followed the above instructions: and *Just tested it.  It sends email created within outlook.*This means that the error has apparently been cleared, but that the Send document by email function isn't working using her mail client, which we've yet to identify conclusively. I was just about to respond when your post arrived. Since you clearly hadn't read through the above instructions, I answered you first to try and avoid further problems. I'm sorry if you find that petty.

You should've referred the questioner to your post.  Instead, you chose not to, which indicates you weren't interested in helping them.  Instead, you wanted me to know that you should get the credit for the solution.  That's pretty petty.

... the Preview version doesn't support the HTTP protocol that traditional Outlook.com accounts use by default.

That's why I wrote the article referred just two posts back:  Windows Live Mail and Outlook Mail

The following worked for me.  Your mileage may vary.

After determining my Outlook.com account had been switched over to the "Preview" mode, I had to set it up as an IMAP account in order for it to work with WLM.  Apparently, the Preview version doesn't support the HTTP protocol that traditional Outlook.com accounts use by default.  Therefore, I had to "Add" the account to WLM again, this time "manually," using the configuration settings for an IMAP account.  Those settings can be found under "Options" at Outlook.com (i.e. look for the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the page).  Once the new account was setup, I deleted the older, non-functioning account from WLM.
