I agree with you, definitely. Giving a date would be a professional manner.

However, in the world of Nokia and now Microsoft Mobile I am not aware of anyone you could ask for such a date. We have these Product Codes since the beginning of Nokia, back in the 90ies. They identify the firmware variant you have. Nokia had the policy to deliver the firmware when it is ready, and not when all variants get the same version. Therefore, some variants are early, some are late, and some do not get an update at all. Nokia did not accept the frustration created by this behaviour. We have to mention this in every thread again, and again. Competitors do this different. Until now, this habit was taken over to Microsoft Mobile and now Microsoft – therefore that ‘you bought a Nokia’ statement. I am just trying to explain the situation we have since the Nokia days. Until now, it did not make sense to chase up with anyone for anyone. It was just a waste of time.

You cannot conclude from one update to another. Next time, your operator may choose to jump over that update and wait for the next update. Or Next time, you could be the first to get the update. Or stated differently: You cannot do anything, just wait. Asking or going for anyone just wastes everyones time. You bought a Nokia.

 I do not get your question, please, try again in other words. Perhaps that answers it already: You cannot do anything about an update than wait until the update message appears in your phone. Reaching all firmware variants takes around 5 months currently. Sometimes the Microsoft-Mobile-Community does see firmware variants designated for internal testing, which are never updated. However, your 059X1Q3 is the firmware variant designated for EE UK, which is a normal firmware variant.

What I would like to know is the actual dates on which Microsoft release a new OS or firmware update.

Whilst I appreciate that there is nothing I can actually do until a message arrives on my phone, is would be helpful for anyone looking at the table to know how long ago the last update was actually released.

I am however pleased to report that when I checked my updates this morning, I was offered O.S. Version 8.10.15148.160 together with Firmware Version 02177.00000.15221.30015 on my EE (U.K.) contracted Lumia 640 which all installed successfully, so I am finally up to date at last... but for how long I wonder!

We now have Windows 10 Mobile to look forward to later this year, of course!
