I have a Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE (bought new about a month ago from Amazon) currently running OS version 8.10.15127.138.

I would like to upgrade to the OS version 8.10.15148.160 so that then I can perform the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile.

How can I make the upgrade to OS 8.10.15148.160?

Or even better, is there a way that I can upgrade directly from OS 8.10.15127.138 to Windows 10 Mobile?

I looked at the information you provided, and normally you should take RM-1073 which is weird since you say you have a phone RM-1074 ... except that your product number is not found in 1074 and when I do a search it redirects me to the version 1073 .. u sure u have 1074??? 

4/ Once finished, you just have to install on the store "Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor" launch and follow the steps ( It is essential to go through the application first, I tried without and it did not work (error code during the search) )! Once the application is closed just run a search for update normally from the settings, It worked for me after 2days of different attempt, the phone first downloaded me an update and I was still under 8.1, once restarted it found me a second update that made it pass on windows 10!

Personally I did not make any backup, but seeing that your Product code does not correspond to your Manufacturer name, I urge you to make a backup before starting anything

While my Lumia 640 LTE is up to date since the first day that 02177.00000.15184.36xxx/8.10.15148.160 rolled out.

That is unfortunate. Why can't windows phone support native wifi calling with just the right sim and frequency support like iphone does?

1. my phone doesnt exist in the availability list

germany - lumia 640 (RM-1077_1011) - dual sim - country variant

2.  my firmware version is 15103

i checked the windows phone recovery tool, it says 15103 is the latest version on the server

should i install insider preview or just wait for over the air update?
