Error 800F0922 when installing a particular KB3022345

Thanks for coming up with some info on this problem...I am a bit confused with your repy...We were told that this update was optional and that we can hide it...Now you have come up with this is part of W10..So now there are probably thousands of people who have hiden this update that have not come on here to find out any information, who might now miss out on W10 launch or worse still have to find out how to repair this update so that they can install W10.. So now can we get MS to confirm that this update is not an option, but a very important one..It would be nice if someone from MS could just pop in and give us some info...

Len, I completely agree with you on this one. There has been so much confusion that Microsoft need to formally address it.

Susan, Thanks for the offer of getting someone from Microsoft on this forum - I really don't have any confidence in them doing that though. I will also contact someone directly in Microsoft as well to try and get something sorted. A couple of the people I used to work with who also worked in Redmond have now left so I can't contact them about it, but I do have some direct contact with one of the founders who is still involved with Microsoft in a consultancy way who might help this situation. I will also PM you as well.

In your case of reporting corruption the best way to determine what has happened is to open a case.  Don't assume they can repro this.  Don't assume they are aware of the corruption.  Don't assume it is actually corruption it could be that the dism reporting is incorrect.

In the meantime I've asked in a venue that I do have access to for someone from Microsoft to come back to these threads and let us know what's going on.

Susan, I understand your position on the forum but you must also understand the chaos that Microsoft has caused with this update. In the past I have designed and worked on systems that have been designed to six sigma standard so quality issues like Microsoft have had with this patch I don't find acceptable. This is not the first time that Microsoft has issued patches in the last 9 months that have had issues.

All I expect from Microsoft is that the formally admit that they got it wrong and explain how they are going to make sure that this sort of issue doesn't happen again.

Given that Windows 10 will be the last version of Windows and enhancements and patches will be made to improve or enhance Windows 10 then Microsoft will have to get them right first time.
