Error 800F0922 when installing a particular KB3022345

Susan, I understand your position on the forum but you must also understand the chaos that Microsoft has caused with this update. In the past I have designed and worked on systems that have been designed to six sigma standard so quality issues like Microsoft have had with this patch I don't find acceptable. This is not the first time that Microsoft has issued patches in the last 9 months that have had issues.

All I expect from Microsoft is that the formally admit that they got it wrong and explain how they are going to make sure that this sort of issue doesn't happen again.

Given that Windows 10 will be the last version of Windows and enhancements and patches will be made to improve or enhance Windows 10 then Microsoft will have to get them right first time.

To set expectations any community moderator is not an employee of Microsoft and doesn't have any more information than you do about why these corruptions are happening. 

Best I can do is to offer you a support case so we can better learn and understand what is going on.  Would you be willing to let me open a support case for you?  If so my email is susan-at-msmvps.com (change the -at- to @)

My apologies for overlooking your ask.  First to set expectations, anyone who is a MVP and has moderator in their title is not an employee of Microsoft.  We only know what we know from the "been there done that" school of education. 

As to your question.   This update is turning on telemetry to allow Microsoft to know what we have installed on our systems to prepare them for the Windows 10 update.  If you NEVER plan to take advantage of the free Windows 10 upgrade offer, you can skip this update.

I don't know why this update is failing, I'll see if I can ask around and get some official Microsoft attention to this matter.

Try this:

1. Uninstall KB3045999
2. It will ask you to restart windows, but DON'T RESTART
3. Install KB3022345
4. Restart Windows
5. Install KB3045999
6. Restart Windows

This worked for me.  Good Luck.
