I think this was planned so we would have to buy their collection of games. I do not want their collection. I just want my desktop Solitaire back. I have had it since 1995 and do not appreciate it being eaten by the makers of Windows 10.

    Just saying.

    Have a blessed day.

Totally agree!  Bring back the old free Windows games folder!  Don't change the look.  We were perfectly happy with that look for decades.  Clearly Microsoft is desperately trying to "monetise" anything it can think of.  Can't really blame them for that.  However, these games are never going to be big money spinner.  I think everyone would agree that Microsoft gained more value in terms of good will by offering these familiar freebies than they ever would have by charging for them.

Agreed!  When the network went down or the server crashed, I always thought, "At least we have Solitaire."  Now, we don't even have that.  Gee, thanks, Microsoft!

I have done all 3 of the steps recommended, with Step 3 in a live chat.  None of these steps showed any errors or problems with my system.  The "New User" account also failed to launch the game.  Solitaire is still dead and does not play.  Again, it was fine in Windows 8.1 and for a short time in Windows 10 before it froze and failed to play.

Having same problem re Microsoft Solitaire Collection ..namely .. fails to run after doing last upgrade to W10... I have tried the above 3 possible rectification solutions .. all to no avail.

Furthermore have also reinstalled the complete W10 from Microsoft (latest versions) and problem still apparent with this new download/installation.

It seems Microsoft are more concerned about 'being seen to provide the latest OS' .. unfortunately the reliability of such will soon loose many of its previous Users / supporters unless Microsoft take action to remedy the known problems (and free).

My experience of Microsoft is one where I started to loose confidence after 'XP'...may give some credit to W7 ... but anything later seems to be a disaster.   No wonder Users are switching to Apple, Android and/or other.

Not impressed at present time.  Also many useful features from earlier MS OS have been removed and/or modified to be rather useless and/or substandard in use/operation.
