Mailing list groups in Windows 10 Mail

I recently upgraded to Windows 10. I had been using Hotmail/outlook.com for my email. After the upgrade, I found my contacts but all of my mailing lists were gone. I checked the People app, but there was nothing there to help me create groups.

Is there a way to recover or create mailing lists now that I have upgraded?

In order to get this needed feature added we need to create momentum and you can help in this way!  But Microsoft will not even see this here because it is mostly staffed by volunteers who give our time to help others.

There is NO option to create groups but there is a work around, using the Mail and People app together.

To create the group:  In Mail, create New Mail, open the cc/bcc field and insert all the addresses for the particular group.

When completed (with the mouse pointer at the end), right click and select 'select all'.  For some reason you can't right click and select copy but you can copy with ctrl+c. Now, open the People app, create new contact, give the group a name and paste the copied names into an email field, I use the 'Other' option and click the SAVE button.

To use the group: Mail app - New mail, click bcc field or whatever, open the People app, snap it left or right, find your group name, click on it, on the right hand side you will see all your group addresses, right click and copy, go back to mail, right click and paste.

I don't know the limitations of this (and there probably is).  None of my groups have more than 10 names in them.

    We said -- as far as it goes.  Microsoft has downsized considerably and we have paid the cost.  Yes there are IT guys that can refine a program to a particular business but the Microsoft community at large (the home consumers that only Bill Gates saw on the horizens in the early 80s) are still out there.  The Boomers are frankly the ones that can afford to continue to buy new computers.  Please encourage a user-friendly Microsoft package, including an Outlook that can do a decent mailing list.

    Hi Shirley.  I think that was a compliment, so thanks first off.

    I was just on MSFT campus last week for my ninth Global MVP Summit.  An impression is that the very young programmers are really dedicated to their work and trying hard within the limitations of their task.   I see them spending their youth pulling all-nighters doing rocket science that stretches the imagination and possibly the bounds of possibility.

    But can you imagine already a half billion users for Windows 10 new approach trying to put Windows on all types of devices besides desktops and laptops - including phones, tablets,  convertibles, servers, programmable household devices, etc? 

    I honestly think they're trying to do too much in too short of a time.  What I wouldn't give for a stability Update instead of a bunch of new features twice a year that break a bunch of other ones. 

    But I'm an idealist, too, and wouldn't be volunteering if I didn't believe they have their hearts in the right place - at least as much as one of the biggest world corporations can.  There is enormous respect shown to privacy, plus they really are willing to pay to help bring the rest of the world along. 

    Bill and Melinda Gates have spent almost two decades spending a huge part of the early profits on bettering humankind in all corners of the world, and that spirit still defines the company's mission as one for good.  Few others on earth come close to the good they do, literally halting disease spread and wiring the far reaches of civilization.  That's Microsoft at it's best, an easy to lose perspective when we hang out here where all the problems come.
