Unable to uninstall update KB2952664

My Win 7 64bit laptop recently installed update KB2952664, which sent everything to a grinding halt. Through a combination of research and spending a whole weekend uninstalling different updates I pinned down the problem to this update.

I can uninstall the update, which brings the laptop back to life, but it immediately shows up again in the installed updates panel. If I restart the laptop after uninstalling the update the problem immediately returns.

Why is the update magically reappearing and how do I remove it for good?

    If you had found that update KB2952664 you don't want it ever never to hear about it. Click on it and select "Hide update" option.

    Open Control Panel. Then Program Add/Remove. Then you must find and check checkbox with text "Show installed updates". After that find your update and click on "Uninstall".

    Hope you will know how to do that.

    I have tried hiding the update. That keeps things clean but it's not the cure.  As long as this update is installed, the new version can't get installed. I'm faced with the overall question: how can I uninstall the bad update?

    I am not clear on all of this.

    This update has been causing me trouble for several months. Restoring to 7/7 will not help. I don't think manual updates are the solution.  Maybe I 'm not understanding what is going on. But I thought it's the update that had issues, got installed, and somehow the system doesn't see it properly and tries to install the update again. Not sure.

    I think there have been many updates with changes because these have been so buggy. I've read that other users have the same problem. Having the update fail daily is a 'symptom of this disease'.

    In order to upgrade to Windows 10 this update has to be there and be clean.

    So what else can you suggest. And thanks for trying to help.

    Hello again,

    the problem should be gone.

    Microsoft made the correction in Windows Update detection signatures.

    The update is not anymore reoffered over and over.

    (If you have hide the update, just restore it and) start again updates redetection.
