Here is what I learned from my own experience, and the experience reported by others on this thread. The problem occurs when booting into Windows from Grub on a different drive than the one where Windows is installed.
- Booting from a Windows boot on the same drive worked.
- Booting from a Windows boot on another drive worked.
- Booting from a Grub boot on the same drive worked.
- Booting from a Grub boot on a different drive did n ot work.
In the past I discovered that Windows Backup has problems under the same combination of circumstances. Its possible that both problems stem from the same cause.
Booting from a Grub boot on the same drive doesn't work for me. I'm using a 960GB SSD.
When will this be fixed? It's really starting to become annoying.
