Windows live writer wont connect to blogger

I have been using the windows live writer for years and today it wont let me post into my blogger blog. 

The first error was stating that my user name and password was incorrect so I changed it. It still didn't work and still stating the same issue. I clean/repaired up the windows essentials like other forms said. Now the error message I get is blogger return the following error: Notfound: not found. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it keeps saying the same issue.

please make sure that you use the following steps

  1. Verify you are using http or https for you website.
  2. Add ' @gmail.com ' at the end of your user name.
  3. If your account has 2-step verification enabled then see the following guide to use app specific password rather than your original password.

    This ping pong of posts to boards is exactly what I hate about all (?) software companies nowadays. Does anyone from the organisation actually read these boards? and take any notice of what its user community is saying? Where are all the old-fashioned support requests systems gone? All these boards end up doing is going round and round in circles, back and forth between suppliers, frustrating and alienating users of both suppliers, and the real issues getting lost in the melee of posts offerring less than helpful advice in the place of real support, real answers, good quality how to video instructions in a language that everyday folks can understand.

    With regard to this problem I am now on the hunt for a Windows and or Android WSIWIG that works. I really don't want to move my blog from Blogger to WordPress, just as I really don't want to stop using WLW, but unless a fix comes soon I shall be forced to.  What does "soon" mean to me? Answer is days, not weeks, certainly NOT months, and ideally something worked out so this never happens again.

    Have we had any answer by Microsoft to this thread?

    A suggestion: Please everyone go to the very first page of this thread and "Recommend this discussion" perhaps if this number goes astronomic then Microsoft will wake up and respond.

    I just tried connecting and posting to Blogger using an iPad app called Blogsy.  It worked perfectly with no problems at all.  Blogsy has obviously made the changes necessary to move from ClientLogin to Google's new authentication process.

    I find it interesting that a small outfit like Blogsy can do this while Microsoft missed the boat entirely.  BTW - Blogsy is the closest app to LiveWriter that I've yet seen that works with Blogger.  With my Apple external keyboard and iPad it works pretty well.

    I would very much like to go on using Windows Live Writer as well, if anyone at MS could provide a fix for this I would be very grateful.

    Live Writer may be open sourced in the next few months, then it could be fixed, but if that happens, it won't be fast. Months.

    That said, Google may have said they'll fix it on their side (given that they broke it, that makes sense) https://plus.google.com/u/0/+RickDoyle/posts/GUPJcu5sZHo

    I truly wish that Google and Microsoft would stop putting us, the users of their software, into this back and forth battle of wills. Obviously Google made a mistake with their login changes, just like they did with the bookmarks recently. Just turn back the clock and leave things alone that aren't broken.

    And obviously Microsoft is aware of this problem. So why is it that it hasn't been fixed on both sides of the problem. Make this software open source if that's the solution, we don't pay for the software anyway, so make it open source and move on.  A win win for everyone..
