I have been using the windows live writer for years and today it wont let me post into my blogger blog.

The first error was stating that my user name and password was incorrect so I changed it. It still didn't work and still stating the same issue. I clean/repaired up the windows essentials like other forms said. Now the error message I get is blogger return the following error: Notfound: not found. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it keeps saying the same issue.

Thanks.

please make sure that you use the following steps

  1. Verify you are using http or https for you website.
  2. Add ' @gmail.com ' at the end of your user name.
  3. If your account has 2-step verification enabled then see the following guide to use app specific password rather than your original password.

I had this problem 3 months ago and was able to solve it by using a new application password with the two-step log-in process with Google. It worked perfectly after this, until a couple of days ago when the problem raised its ugly head again. I tried repeating the process but this time it didn't work.

I am thoroughly fed up with this. Surely someone can fix this, either Google or Microsoft? Can they not work together? Do their many users mean so little to them? There are loads of people who prefer to use WLW rather than the rubbish Blogger drafting software. For years this worked perfectly and now we can't depend on it and this time I seem to be completely stuck.

I just hope somebody with power to put this right is reading this thread. All we users seem able to do is moan about it and nobody actually does anything to help us. Blogging is very important to me and I really want this problem sorted asap. Please, please, please will somebody sort this out for us!!!!!

Please read the previous comments on this thread and follow up with the new Open Live Writer project, which you can find here, rather complaining on this forum, which will be of no help since Microsoft stopped development on WLW three years ago and have finally handed over the code to the open source community.

There is right now a team of developers working unpaid to get the Blogger issue (see here) fixed as a top priority, so that all of us can enjoy the benefits of a working product. There has been significant activity on this just in the last few days. If you are keen to get this fixed, perhaps you could show them some encouragement or even offer some of your time to help out, rather than just shouting about it on this forum, which they will not be reading anyway.
