In the specification of my notebook model is only said:Video graphics OR Graphics Card is AMD Radeon HD 6770M (1 GB DDR5).
So, my questions are:
Firstly: In the specifications, they didn't clarify which is the discrete graphics card(discrete GPU) integrated into motherboard, and which is the Intel graphics card(internal GPU) integrated into CPU?
Secondly: as long as my notebook is equipped with a dual core Intel processor, and Intel HD6770 graphics subsystem, and 1024-MB of discrete memory. So, I am confused how much the memory size of internal GPU integrated into CPU.
Thirdly: I know that the manufacturer of discrete GPU integrated into motherboard is AMD. But, What is the manufacturer of internal GPU integrated into CPU?
I know A 'graphics card' is the subsystem inside the PC that handles the video output. Can be a stand-alone card, or integrated into the CPU.
So, my questions are:
Firstly: Then, the desktop computers are much better than notebook computers since I noticed that almost all desktop computers have a graphics card integrated into motherboard, and another AGP slot to which an external stand-alone graphics card can be installed.
So, in desktop computers, if the integrated graphics card got defective, I have another AGP slot to which I can install a stand-alone graphics card.
Also, if external graphics card was defective, then I can replace it without replacing the entire motherboard.
However, I noticed that laptops/notebooks(like mine) have a a discrete graphics card integrated into motherboard, and graphics card integrated into CPU, then if the discrete graphics card integrated to motherboard got defective, then I would need to replace the whole motherboard. If the graphics card integrated into CPU got defective, I would replace the CPU.
Secondly: I noticed that a slight difference between desktop and notebooks.
In desktop computers, the internal graphics card is integrated into motherboard. However, in notebooks(like mine), the internal graphics card(called:internal GPU) is integrated into CPU.
In desktop computer, the external stand-alone graphics card is discrete which can be installed into the AGP slot/PCI express.
However, in notebooks(like mine), the discrete graphics card(called discrete GPU) is integrated into motherboard.
2- I cleaned the old thermal compound located on CPU and discrete GPU with a piece of cloth. You need to remove the old compound completely with either compound cleaning solution or 90% isopropyl alcohol if you can't find any cleaning solution.
Then apply fresh thermal paste.
3- You don't tell me why only the old thermal is only put on the tops of CPU and GPU. It is not put on the entire tops of CPU and GPU.
It should cover nearly the entire CPU / GPU after the heat sink is mounted on the CPU / GPU. What I do is apply 4 small dots of compound about halfway toward each corner of the CPU and one dot in the center and then mount the CPU.
7- Why do you need me to run Speccy? I have that program installed.
I was hoping it would show your CPU fan speed when different loads were applied. I would expect the fan to be at a slow speed (RPM) when the CPU / GPU are at or near idle and then display the fan speeds (which should increase in RPM) when the CPU is at 25%, 50%, and 75%
Firstly: Yes, I have applied new thermal compound on the old one to let it smooth, then I remove the old thermal compound.
Secondly: If you could see my motherboard screen shots posted before, then you definitely don't agree with the way old thermal compound is applied(it is only on the tops and not the entire tops)(That was applied by the OEM vendor)
Finally: You didn't comment on the screen shot of the speedfan utility. Have you seen that my fan working well or not?
