'Battery Alert' appears before the 'press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.', however, ' Cooling Fan Alert' appears after 'press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.'

Hi,

First of all: I know that I have been having a problem with my HP Laptop Battery, and with its cooling Fan.

However, I am now wondering what detected this error below as long as it was shown even before  the notification saying 'the press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.' Thus, if the BIOS detected that there was a problem with the HP Battery storage', then this error should have been listed after 'press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.' was passed.

'HP Battery Alert:    The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low. For optimal performance, this battery may need to be replaced.'

That alert lasted about 15 seconds, and then the 'press 'press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.' is shown.

Next: This is error below showed me::

'The system didn't detect that a cooling fan is operating correctly'

I know that BIOS detected that a problem with 'Cooling Fan' since the Alert of error was shown after passing 'press 'ESC' key for Start-up menu.'

Any comments would be highly appreciated

    No, they have not.  I only followed all steps in this document below trying to fix this error:(But all of them  failed)

    This document pertains to HP and Compaq notebook PCs. When starting the computer, the following error appears on the screen: The system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly.Continued operation is not recommended and may cause unpredictable behavior that could result in random shutdown, data loss or possible system damage. The system will shut down in 15 seconds. To prevent shutdown and continue operation, press the Enter key now. System Fan (90b)In addition to this error, the system fan may spin faster and become louder.This error indicates that a problem exists related to the heat removal system. One of two possible events is occurring:.The system fan is not spinning or not spinning properly..The temperature inside the case is too high and the fan cannot spin fast enough to remove the heat.This error message occurs to help prevent costly damage to the computer. To fix this error, use the following steps:1. If you notice that the system fan spins and is blowing warm air from the computer,clean the exterior vents to remove dust buildup by blowing air through the vent openings. Do this while the computer is off. Dust can accumulate inside the vent opening and around internal cooling components, preventing the removal of heat.After dust has been removed, try turning on the computer to see if the error goes away.if not, continue to the next step. For more information on reducing heat inside your computer, see Reducing Heat Inside the PC .2. 2.     If you have a can of compressed air blow the air through each pipe to insure it does not have anything inside and the air flows freely thru each pipe.

    Could you please answer my five points below?

    1- This is my my Heatsink Compounds 'ZP-360' i have used.

    2- My fan/heatsink assembly is OEM cooling system unit. However, the new fan whose  final two  screen shots posted  above are not OEM unit. So, you think if I had replaced the old fan with a Non- OEM unit, the fan would be working well,  or my laptop would be still overheating? NOTE: as said that new fan costs $50. So, if my laptop would be still overheating after installing the new fan, it would be a big problem.

    3-If you see my third screen shot while my fan was being removed from my heatsink, then you will see the cooper pipes can never be blown by a compressed air, nor even are they cleaned with any way since they are closed from all of their ends.  The ends of the cooper pipes are  soldered to the exterior vents(airways) of heatsink. Do you mean with blow the compressed air through the vents(airways) of heatsink. I have done that, and even I have cleaned the exterior vents of heatsink by a paint thinner.

    However, if you mean the cooper pipes. There are no ends of the cooper pipes which are opened(hollowed). So How can I blow the air through them?  

    4- In the link below, I found another person complaining from the the same problem I have been complaining from except that my laptop is not shut down automatically when overheating.

    5- I have read in that thread whose link is above, 

    (A)- jerry built or jury rigged another fan to blast air through the fins and see if that allows the laptop to run for longer .. perhaps the end of the hoover to suck air faster through the slots .. might work!

    Jury rigging refers to makeshift repairs or temporary contrivances, made with only the tools and materials that happen to be on hand, originally a nautical term. On sailing ships, a jury rig is a replacement mast and yards (which hold the ship's rigging) improvised in case of damage or loss of the original mast.

    So, how can I dojerry built or jury rigged another fan?

    **(B)- "**It is probably the heat sensor... it is not replaced when changing fans on some computers.

    and the "ping" is a dead give-away." 

    So, do you think it would be still worth a try to install a new fan even after what is being said?????

    It appears that the cooper pipes from the fan a shown in your 1st screen shot ".(The first face)" are designed to act as an air duct / pathway from the fan to the metal heat sink. Have you check to see that they are not partially blocked and as a result reducing the airflow to either the CPU or GPU heat sink.

    If you have a can of compressed air blow the air through each pipe to insure it does not have anything inside and the air flows freely thru each pipe.
