Windows Mobile Device Center Compatibility with Windows 10

Is or will Windows Mobile Device Center be compatible with Windows 10?  There are some legacy devices that require sync with WMDC and then there are security personnel that do not allow devices to connect to their Wi-Fi but rather connect them via USB using WMDC.  I was able to get WMDC to work successfully on Windows 8 and 8.1.  So far I have not heard any news in regards to Windows 10.  Looking forward to hearing results and or news regarding this.  Thx everyone.

These are the steps I had to perform in order to get all of my devices at my workplace syncing correctly. I hope this is able to help.

    1 - PC Settings

    a) Open a Notepad and copy paste this into it. When you save it make sure to select All files(*.*) from the drop down menu and that .bat is at the end of your file name.

    REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RapiMgr /v SvcHostSplitDisable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

    REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WcesComm /v SvcHostSplitDisable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

    Run the .bat as administrator.

Then follow the procedure to install the modem and define the connection settings

    a) Select Start ->Settings ->Control Panel and run the "Phone and Modem" options;choose the "Modem" tab and press the "Add" button to make the "Add HardwareWizard" window appear.

    b) From the "Add Hardware Wizard" window choose "Don't detect my modem" andpress the "Next" button. Then, choose "Standard Modem" from the"Manufacturer" list, and "Communications cables between two computers" fromthe "Models" list. Select the COM port to be used for connection and press the"Next" button. Now the modem is available on the installed modem list.

    c) From the same ("Add Hardware Wizard") window select the installed modemand press the "Properties" button to open a further window where selecting the"Modem" tab and changing the "Maximum port speed" to 115200. Then, pressthe "Ok" button and close all windows to return to Control Panel.

    d) From Control Panel choose "Network Connections" to open the related "NewConnection Wizard" window. From this window press the "Next" button, choose"Set Up an advanced Connection" and press "Next" again. Then, choose "AcceptIncoming Connections", press "Next", choose "Communications cables betweentwo computers" and press "Next" again. Choose if VPN connections are allowedand press "Next". Then, it is necessary to select one or more users which canaccess the computer or eventually insert a new one through the "Add" button. Then press "Next" twice to complete the connection.

    2 - Mobile Device Settings

    a) Open ActiveSync on the mobile device. Look for the Menu button and click on Connections. Make sure Synchronize all PC's using this connection: is clicked on and select (com1_115200 or equivalent) is selected.

    b) Open Settings > Connections > USB to PC and make sure Connect to the Desktop Computer as a USB Mass Storage Device is off. Then make sure Enable Advanced Network Functionality is checked on.

    Hello

I followed the instructions but am still getting an Error with the synchronisation.

The only programme that synchronizes despite the sync error is codewallet.

I had the same problem, I updated the computers with Windows 10 and this stopped working Windows Mobile Center. but searching the web a bit I found the WMDC-Helper.exe program at http://www.junipersys.com/Juniper-Systems-Rugged-Handheld-Computers/support/Knowledge-Base/Support-Knowledge-Base-Topics/ Desktop-Connection-ActiveSync-or-Windows-Mobile-Device-Center / WMDC-in-Windows-10 and returned to work the program without problems which was great relief because in the company it is of vital importance the use of it. I use it for my Trimble TSCe TAB for GPS. first --- install WMDC as windows vista SP2 compatibility, then install WMDC-helper as administrator, once done, just restart your PC and enjoy. Thanks to Mario Vega Cervantes for the post.

Hi I am trying to connect up a data capturing pda. I connect it through the docking station and it automatically installs wmdc but device center does not open. But when I open task manager it shows its running in the background i also tried using the sync center but it also does not pick up the device there. the pda runs on Windows CE 6. is there any way to get wmdc to run on windows 10 or do I need to downgrade to windows 8 or windows 7 to get it to work?
