Hi,
I have recently bought a Lumia 2520 tab that works on Windows RT 8.1.
I wanted to know if this Windows RT can be upgraded to Windows 10. If yes, then it would be really great. Else I will have regret for buying an operating system that has no future.

Microsoft have indicated that there will be an RT version of Windows 10 during the recent presentation however it was a very limited statement, hopefully we will get some clarity later
"We are working on an update for Surface [Windows RT], which will have some of the functionality of Windows 10. More information to come."

Unfortunately as of now Windows 10 will not be made available for RT devices and that includes Lumia 2520.

I wish people would stop saying this half truth all over the internet. Of course Windows 10 for RT is not going to have all of the full blown functions of x86 Windows 10 even if some legacy compatibility is transferred. There will still be an update for windows RT and it has been confirmed that Microsoft plans to continue pursuing ARM based software. The Atom chips still have nothing on the power speed sustainability and energy efficiency of an ARM processor in one package. The limits of the amount of RAM ARM processors can support are also being over come. Samsung for example has already proven this.
Now we see the new Surface 3 I have even less hope. It has switched over to the Atom Processor and runs full Windows 8 which to me is a nail in the coffin for RT.
A real shame because to me given support RT was and is an iOS beater. To a certain extent the issue has been solved for me because my Surface failed terminally. I did initially look to replace like with like but the device disappeared from the Microsoft Store and this lack of concrete information led me to go for the Pro3 instead. A really good device but bigger and heavier, I miss my little Surface RT
I really fail to see the logic in killing off RT yet supporting Raspberry Pi although Microsoft have not actually admitted to the former, it is difficult to see any other outcome.
The problem is at the time of the OP Microsoft had said virtually nothing about Windows RT and Windows 10. Very soon after MS held the Windows 10 event and even then what was said was very much an aside comment, very guarded and contained little detail. As of today about the biggest glimmer of hope is the fact that there will be a Windows 10 for the Raspberry PI, also an ARM device.
Those of us used to the RT limitations would hardly expect Windows 10 RT to be fully functional, it is the dearth of detailed information from Microsoft that is the problem, quessworks by commentators is not enough. Yes the Answer is wrong and should be withdrawn, that is down to the mods.
