I've got to admit that I used to work for Microsoft, but that doesn't sway me one way or the other. I've said negative things about them too.
But there are facts and there are people who will never like Microsoft. I try to be reasonable but I do sometimes blow it.
I'm also a fan of 8.1; I almost NEVER use their "metro" ****. The first thing I do when I boot my system is to press Win+D to get to the screen where I "live" on it.
You're right, of course, in some instances, however, I do not consider myself much of an amateur, my doctorate is in computer science. But a massive hemorrhagic stroke wiped much of what I knew out of my memory. Putting it in other words, my biological RAM is shot. I rely on a portable voice recorder or my smart phone to remember things I need to remember. I can't even program anymore. All those hours of study and practice gone down the tubes.
Despite that, I've nothing about which to complain--I am alive and 99% of all people with my type of stroke are buried.
