KB3035583 Installing Windows 10 using Windows Update?

Would you please tell me how to prevent the installation of KB3035583 in my computer and if it is already installed, how to remove it?  Also, are there other updates that we need to be concerned about that enable this behaviour?

KB3035583 now appears as an Important update in Windows Update and is checked which means it will be automatically installed if the user does not uncheck it.  If automatic update is set, it will install without intervention.

There are credible articles that say that Microsoft either has installed or will install changes to my computer that will enable Microsoft to use it as an advertising platform and then install Windows 10 without first obtaining an informed decision to do so.  I truly hope this is not true.

On behalf of my clients and their 162 Windows "consumer" computers, I must tell you that we do not grant Microsoft or any other vendor the right to do this.  When other Windows players do this, we regard it as malware and take great care to remove it.

Microsoft got to where it is today by selling Windows.  We have spent decades learning how to use Windows and billions of dollars buying Windows computers and Windows software.  We own these systems.  They are ours, not Microsoft's.

Windows Update has earned a huge trust.  We trust Microsoft to use Windows Update to keep our computers safe and secure.  When Patch Tuesday comes along we install all the updates that Microsoft says are "important." We assume those to be either plugging a security leak or fixing a software error.

We all hope Windows 10 will be something we will want.  We will carefully review and consult trusted advisors before we install Windows 10.  We have seen Windows 8 and rejected it.  Windows 8 is a bad product we did not choose.  

Automatically installing Windows 10 on our computers would be a severe abuse of a well-earned trust.  Changing our computers to enable them to become advertising platforms is also an abuse.

    Links to Entries! This discussion has already some 240 entries, 24 pages. When we refer to a given entry we need to address it directly, otherwise the search becomes hopeless. Microsoft’s alert mail "Discussion has a reply" can do that, e.g. http://answers.microsoft.com/message/9138050b-0520-4cbe-8609-0cbe1d2ec0ee?threadId=e8dc58af-18c4-4ab6-9906-02658b8f402d. Can someone please publish (here and elsewhere) a foolproof way to create such an address.

       For example I’d love to see those batch files! Where are they? Please give more links for people who want to try a named (but not given) remedy.

       Canadiantech, do you have a place where the propaganda "updates" are named and shortly explained please. Personally I don’t mind Microsoft spying on me, I just don’t want another Windows than 7. –

       What a waste of time, Microsoft makes us suffer. As bad as tax authorities :–)

    Hi Eric, The sites I read are using the .bat files to keep the repeaters from installing. I posted from a site that is using this here on 8/11/2015. That may give you a better idea what I was referring to.

    With your trouble of not being able to Uninstall them, safe mode may help.

    Since you don't need to be online to Uninstall, I wouldn't bother with safe mode with Networking, unless you have something else to do. Anti-Virus, etc.

    Edit: I just read again your other post and see you already used the .bat file with several KB's listed. Sorry, I have read so many various websites and the one thing all agree on are the invaders.

    I'm sure you've tried System Restore.

    I set my WU to Never and not going to worry about it until next Patch Tuesday.

    Such a lot of time wasted having to be occupied with this when it's not necessary, except for Microsoft's invasion of our property.

    Read quite a few today that already changed to Linux.

    I am not sure what all the fuss is about.  I suspect it is about people who want to do WU daily.  I think that is a foolish habit, and recommend doing this once a month or even less.  If that is the frequency that you do this, this is not such an onerous task.

    Have you used the .bat file procedure? Some sites I've read are doing that, but I haven't seen any feedback on whether that works or not.

    I'm sure if that would work from keeping those "invaders" from coming back, Canadian Tech would have said so.

    I've been trying multiple .bat files but am not successful getting them to uninstall. I keep getting an error related to reference assembly cannot be found. I think it's referring to some .net setting, which was my original problem with this issue. I had msft remote in and they could not uninstall the last two updates I have as the wusa fails with that error. Also no matter what I do with permissions, ownership, icacls  cannot get it to follow my changes and its overriding my changes and sets all permissions and ownership to trusted installer only.cannot get it to
