Would you please tell me how to prevent the installation of KB3035583 in my computer and if it is already installed, how to remove it? Also, are there other updates that we need to be concerned about that enable this behaviour?
KB3035583 now appears as an Important update in Windows Update and is checked which means it will be automatically installed if the user does not uncheck it. If automatic update is set, it will install without intervention.
There are credible articles that say that Microsoft either has installed or will install changes to my computer that will enable Microsoft to use it as an advertising platform and then install Windows 10 without first obtaining an informed decision to do so. I truly hope this is not true.
On behalf of my clients and their 162 Windows "consumer" computers, I must tell you that we do not grant Microsoft or any other vendor the right to do this. When other Windows players do this, we regard it as malware and take great care to remove it.
Microsoft got to where it is today by selling Windows. We have spent decades learning how to use Windows and billions of dollars buying Windows computers and Windows software. We own these systems. They are ours, not Microsoft's.
Windows Update has earned a huge trust. We trust Microsoft to use Windows Update to keep our computers safe and secure. When Patch Tuesday comes along we install all the updates that Microsoft says are "important." We assume those to be either plugging a security leak or fixing a software error.
We all hope Windows 10 will be something we will want. We will carefully review and consult trusted advisors before we install Windows 10. We have seen Windows 8 and rejected it. Windows 8 is a bad product we did not choose.
Automatically installing Windows 10 on our computers would be a severe abuse of a well-earned trust. Changing our computers to enable them to become advertising platforms is also an abuse.

Multiple times I have right-click the update in Windows Update and selected to Hide the update; and yet every month or so, this update shows back up in my list of updates and I have to Hide it again. Please provide the instructions so tha this update will never, ever show up in my list again; ever!
You might want to google "New Coke". You might believe you would get better Coke in that case, but the overwhelming majority of consumers did not think so at the time. Of course, not only did Coca-Cola not sneak into people's houses to replace the product they already bought with one they didn't want, but they learned from their mistake, apologized to consumers, and kept both products on the market for a time, offering a choice between (new) Coke and Coca-Cola Classic, thus turning a marketing disaster into a consumer relations victory.
Microsoft may yet learn from that, and give consumers something they want. But it probably won't, and the equivalent of Pepsi will come along and fill the void.
I need to say that I knew very little about Coca Cola and the "New Coke". I live in Czech Republic so that I prefer beer. I do not drink Coca Cola, well maybe once in ten years or even less. Coka Cola tastes too sweet to me.
Microsoft is showing us who they really are. They don't care about their customers' wishes.
All of this discussion presumes a company who actually cares what their customers think. It even depends on a company who is listening. I very strongly doubt either exist in this case. M$ is sitting on a huge (absolutely huge) customer following who through a lot of history will follow one way or another. Mostly because the alternatives are largely not acceptable or worse in some ways.
Unless M$ customers speak very loudly with their pocket books, M$ will not hear us.

To draw an analogy with the poster child for corporate marketing misjudgements, that is the equivalent of the Coca-Cola Company having come to your house while you were asleep, emptying all your bottles of old Coke, and filling them with new Coke.
It's a shame that no matter how desperate Microsoft gets in pushing Windows 10, the one option that seems to be off the table is actually making an o/s that most people want.
I do believe that I would get better Coke in this case.

But Microsoft is trying to push me to an operating system with functions that I DO NOT WANT!!! Ie. from good W7 they're trying to kick me to bad W10. That's a big difference.
Definetely, I do not want W10. I hate Metro. I hate spying OS!!!
