KB3035583 Installing Windows 10 using Windows Update?

Would you please tell me how to prevent the installation of KB3035583 in my computer and if it is already installed, how to remove it?  Also, are there other updates that we need to be concerned about that enable this behaviour?

KB3035583 now appears as an Important update in Windows Update and is checked which means it will be automatically installed if the user does not uncheck it.  If automatic update is set, it will install without intervention.

There are credible articles that say that Microsoft either has installed or will install changes to my computer that will enable Microsoft to use it as an advertising platform and then install Windows 10 without first obtaining an informed decision to do so.  I truly hope this is not true.

On behalf of my clients and their 162 Windows "consumer" computers, I must tell you that we do not grant Microsoft or any other vendor the right to do this.  When other Windows players do this, we regard it as malware and take great care to remove it.

Microsoft got to where it is today by selling Windows.  We have spent decades learning how to use Windows and billions of dollars buying Windows computers and Windows software.  We own these systems.  They are ours, not Microsoft's.

Windows Update has earned a huge trust.  We trust Microsoft to use Windows Update to keep our computers safe and secure.  When Patch Tuesday comes along we install all the updates that Microsoft says are "important." We assume those to be either plugging a security leak or fixing a software error.

We all hope Windows 10 will be something we will want.  We will carefully review and consult trusted advisors before we install Windows 10.  We have seen Windows 8 and rejected it.  Windows 8 is a bad product we did not choose.  

Automatically installing Windows 10 on our computers would be a severe abuse of a well-earned trust.  Changing our computers to enable them to become advertising platforms is also an abuse.

    I blocked all updates as of June or July 2015 after  Windows 10 malware invited itself into my computer , disabled my system restore & refused top leave

    after two days of wanting to kill someone for what they had done ,I tapped in my problem on Google , and thank God I ended up here ,and with information obtained here , I was able to remove this virus and block it from ever getting in again (although it keeps tryiong ) by notifying me ,that Windows wants to update , or Windows 10 in ready to install,

    The only thing I allow is the scheduled scans about once a month

    My computer has never run better

    I don't get viruses, spam pop ups junk mail goes straight to my bin etc

    I love my "puter" now ,all thanks to Canada Tech , and the positive guys 7 gals ? on this thread

    and all the nit pickinbg and name calling by the opposing so called experts , willever get me to unlock my system to this scurge ever again

    I will change providers first

    Either you consent on the “demands” of their bundle of software products/services or you better stay with an OS without updates.

    There is a third way that gives you the option of receiving all updates, except the upgrade to Windows 10. For me the choice in July 2016 will be whether to upgrade my two computers to Windows 10 or to stick with Windows 7 and Windows 8. I will have that choice. Those who have followed the advice of Canadian Tech and others may not because their operating systems are damaged goods.

    The KB3035583 is not the only bad KB causing trouble around the world. In fact it belongs to a number of updates sent for the same purposes involving ms “strategy” in its newer OS Windows 10.

    It seems that Microsoft is “forcing” all windows users in the world to adopt MS software products, in a closing loop, so that they may take benefits in other kind of business such as advertisement. Similarly to Google (and others), they manage to collect data on the preferences of users, which information can be sold to advertisers in their research engines. This signifies big bucks to their accounts.

    In other words we are no more the solo owners of the OS we have purchased. We are simply the channels around the world serving as “sources” for the newer clientele.

    My problem is similar to yours. The KB3035583 cannot be deleted for good, unless you give up with the MS facility of automatic upgrades. Either you consent on the “demands” of their bundle of software products/services or you better stay with an OS without updates.

    To “clear” your present problem neither the Restore or HK Image facility, nor the repair of the registry will set your computer in a previous clean status. You will need to format the HDisk and reinstall the OS from scratch. Once up and running do not allow automatic upgrades. Once you got the list of available KBs to install, accept only those previous to April of 2015. Then get details of each update’s (KB) purposes and discharge those that relate to modifying older services or relate to newer MS products. Some KBs depend on a previous installed KB which if not existent will classify such KB as a pending update that will cause a “never ending” loop requesting you to restart your computer (KB3035583 is an example).

    I did not solve the problem with the advice provided in these MS community forums or direct MS support. I decided to format the drive and reinstall clean my OS, but I lost the “qualification” as running a genuine Windows 7 Ultimate. The unique serial number sent to the ms server at my first registration is no more recognized for “approval” to qualifying it as genuine. Microsoft Support attendants suggested to me to buy a newer serial number online if I wanted to get software updates free of charge. The “beauty” of the periodical upgrades sent to the computers around the world as a free MS service may become costly later.

    Every time Microsoft re-releases kb3035583, it gets un-hidden. Each time that happens, you will have to hide it again.

    Be sure your Windows Update setting is NOT set to "automatically install updates".

    Your step to hide KB3035583 do not work,I have done his many times and it still finds a way to unhide itself and install.  I find this very annoying.  I very much dislike this stupid update and think you should just delete it and make your customers happy
