Intel HD Graphics Driver via Windows Update

"All these Security App tests you see, are for Marketing & Sales purposes only, not your over all well being(even the independent? ones?). On top of that there is allot of snake oil and voodoo in the various test suites to Market & sell them. In short you are getting marketed to death, AND NOT NECESSARILY SECURE!"

Simply put, the above is factually incorrect.  

• While Windows Firewall can be extremely secure, it is not by default and takes a couple of days to customize it to a point where it is secure.
• While Windows Defender has improved substantially, yearly tests show other products score far higher at detection.
• Suites such as Comodo Internet Security (which contains an amazing firewall, excellent anti-virus, and superior malware detection) are preferred to Windows OS based security measures.  Malwarebytes and Comodo routinely score in the top 5 year after year.  
  • Windows Firewall can be made to be as secure as Comodo's firewall; however, it does require a couple of days of customizing to get it to that point... something that simply isn't feasible for most users (not due to the time, but due to the lack of knowledge on what rules need to be set, what rules need to be deleted, and in what order rules need to be applied).

Choosing an internet security suite for your PC is like buying a house or car; it requires substantial research. And much like buying a house or car, your failure to research before you buy (or use in the case of software) can leave you screwed in every way possible.

• AnInternet Security Suite consists of a firewall, antivirus, and malware detection and protection; preferably coming with sandbox functionality.
  • It's also key to have a strict firewall running on your router, preferably, for the home user, taken from OpenWRT's fw3 implementation [fw3 print will print the iptables rules that need to be copied over and applied].
• Microsoft offers a free application calledEMET that is highly recommended to use in conjunction with an internet security suite.

This driver seems to be for 3rd generation cpu mine is 2nd that is why it fails even from my OEM.

It's not for a third gen as I have a third gen, nor is it for the 4th or 2nd gens.

It would be extremely helpful if prior to posting people read the last page of the thread.

AGAIN, THIS WAS HUMAN ERROR BY WHOMEVER HANDLES WSUS.

If you want to fix the problem, HIDE THE UPDATE.

A new weird update for everybody.

I turned on my other laptop, the one that was having the driver problems, for the first time in several days and checked for updates. Now its showing everything is up to date and the driver update has disappeared. Anybody else have this?

Hmmm... let's have some common sense.

If it's not there anymore it's probably a good bet that Microsoft fixed the WSUS database.

Seriously, what is the point of posting to a thread if you're not going to be bothered to at least read the last page?  Is it really that much to ask, or is it really a necessity for threads to fill up with the same thing over and over again because everyone and their mom refuses to do something as simple as read.

Every MS thread I reply on to help someone, it's the same ridiculousness on every one.
