This Help hub page serves as a means for the MSN Weather Engineering team to also interact with our end users on issues they are encountering with the Apps and the Weather site on www.msn.com in addition to also communicating known issues.

Are you seeing inaccurate weather conditions in the MSN Weather App?

The MSN Weather team has received feedback from users of our Apps Windows & Windows Phone platform as well as the MSN Weather website  about inaccurate weather conditions being reported ranging from Incorrect location detection (Home or Current), Inaccurate Current conditions (precipitation, temperature, wind etc.) or Forecast issues. Thanks for the feedback - we appreciate it very much. We are working to improve the quality of the app from a functionality and data perspective.

This discussion forum has been created to enable two-way communication between the MSN Weather team and users of the MSN Weather app (Windows, Windows Phone) around data quality issues users are experiencing with the app. When reporting issues, please be sure to provide us details that will help us diagnose issues faster such as:

  • User's Location (Current or Home)
  • Date of the Weather data anomaly.
  • Type of data issue - current conditions (temp, precipitation, wind) or forecast conditions
  • Version of OS (Windows, WP) on your device
  • Version of the app currently installed on the device

    Why does this thing report wind speeds using Beaufort units (which is  completely useless unless you commute to work by oil tanker) and air pressure in Pascals (which is completely useless unless you work in a Physics lab)?

    Is it some dev who thinks that his preferred measurement units are better than the ones the rest of the world uses?  It sure looks like it.

    As a cyclist, the app is useless to me as it is, so kindly tell me how to display km/h and either bar or psi, or inform me quickly that they are not options, so that I can uninstall it without wasting any more time on it.

    Thank you for posting your question. Could you confirm if glance was ever working on this device before? It would be great if you could share the lock screen and glance settings on the phone. These can be found under settings app. Also please note that glance would not work if App is installed on SD card as indicated here.

    Additionally, the correct settings to have for you to be able to see Glance using MSN Weather App working on your WP 8.1 device is as shown in the attached screen shots. Please let us know if this is how you have it configured on your device.

    Hello,

    Weather app does not support showing temperature on the task bar. You can view the temperature and other data for your preferred location on live tile via pinning the app tile to start screen as indicated here.

    Hello,

    I'm using a Lumia 1520. I've upgraded the phone to 8.1 denim. The msn weather app doesn't display the temperature on the glance screen. How can I fix this? Thanks
