This Help hub page serves as a means for the MSN Weather Engineering team to also interact with our end users on issues they are encountering with the Apps and the Weather site on www.msn.com in addition to also communicating known issues.

Are you seeing inaccurate weather conditions in the MSN Weather App?

The MSN Weather team has received feedback from users of our Apps Windows & Windows Phone platform as well as the MSN Weather website  about inaccurate weather conditions being reported ranging from Incorrect location detection (Home or Current), Inaccurate Current conditions (precipitation, temperature, wind etc.) or Forecast issues. Thanks for the feedback - we appreciate it very much. We are working to improve the quality of the app from a functionality and data perspective.

This discussion forum has been created to enable two-way communication between the MSN Weather team and users of the MSN Weather app (Windows, Windows Phone) around data quality issues users are experiencing with the app. When reporting issues, please be sure to provide us details that will help us diagnose issues faster such as:

  • User's Location (Current or Home)
  • Date of the Weather data anomaly.
  • Type of data issue - current conditions (temp, precipitation, wind) or forecast conditions
  • Version of OS (Windows, WP) on your device
  • Version of the app currently installed on the device

    Thank you for providing information on live tile issue on your phone.

    Does live tile update when you unpin / repin the tile or launch the app? Do you have a lock screen set for weather app? If yes does that fail to update as well? Generally after how long does the tile stop updating?

    When the tile stops updating, it would be great if you can check settings -> battery saver -> usage on the phone and make sure that weather app is allowed to run in the background. If there are many pinned tiles, platform may choose to disable live tile update for a specific app.

    Unpin/Repin helps.

    Launch the app doesn't helps.

    Lock screen is not setted for weather app.

    Live tile is not update automatically never. Only if I do something with it - change size or unpin/repin

    Battery saver is off on my phone. Weather app is allowed to run in the background.

    Hello,

    Could you specify if location detection has ever worked for some other place and if its only limited to a specific location in Mumbai? In the case if location detection has never worked we would like to know settings of your phone and weather app and the error message that is being displayed.

    On the other end, if  issue is only specific to a location, it would be great if you could  share latitude and longitude of that location. You can get latitude / longitude of the location by installing any compass app from the phone store.

    On latest version you're fixed live tile update, but i saw not changes - live tile still refuses to update automatically. In some cases helps manually changing size of the tile - after changing tile starts to show the correct information.

    Phone - Lumia 925

    OS version - 8.10.14219.341

    Firmware revision - 3051.50009.1424.0004

    MSN Weaher app version - 3.1.4.487
