compatability of Windows 10 with embroidery software, 4D Embroidery, in particular?

I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to Windows10. The main use for this computer, is sewing/embroidery software, 4D Embroidery. Is W 10 going to run that software satisfactorily?

2016-01-28T13:58:45+00:00 Are you running 4D in Win10 mode or in Win7/Win8 compatibility mode? That is very different than running the program solely in Win10. The file structure of 4D was not equivalent to Microsoft's file structure at the time. 4D is loaded directly into the root directory of the C-drive. Newer versions adhere to Microsoft's file structure of installing into the Program folder. The dongle drivers are only for getting the dongle to recognize the program and are for security purposes only and have no bearing on how the program operates in the Windows environment.

2016-03-28T20:54:07+00:00 I upgraded to 5d from 3D then 4D and it will not work with Windows 10. managed to do a design but will not send. Luckily not upgraded my laptop yet. So fed up with having to pay so much more to upgrade to other versions when all I need is 5D.

2016-03-29T03:44:14+00:00 5D works absolutely fine with Win10, as does 6D. If you have a Viking or Pfaff machine the communication icon needs to be in the taskbar without a red 'x' on it. 2016-06-05T05:52:18+00:00 That is very nice... not! I have bought an embroidery machine that only works with a dongle and a laptop. Okay you could say that I was a very stupid woman when I bought that machine but according the shop it was the best they had... and I do not usually throw away a working laptop.
It was not a cheap machine and was 6 months old when a friends' kids threw cola over the my laptop. I had to buy a new laptop and now my embroidery program and machine are not supported!?! The shop where I bought it, does not want to take the machine back since it is a software problem. The software company does not want to do a thing about it. That is a nice way to throw away your money. I will have to work for a couple of years to earn that kind of money! No Vinking or software with dongles for me anymore!
