Hmmmm, so I'm guessing that I shouldnt even try to put my 3D program on my new Win 10 Dell. Right now, it's still running on XP.
compatability of Windows 10 with embroidery software, 4D Embroidery, in particular?
I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to Windows10. The main use for this computer, is sewing/embroidery software, 4D Embroidery. Is W 10 going to run that software satisfactorily?

2017-11-27T00:35:51+00:00 Hmmmm, so I'm guessing that I shouldnt even try to put my 3D program on my new Win 10 Dell. Right now, it's still running on XP.
Absolutely do not attempt to use 3D on a Win10 computer. It barely worked on a Win7 computer. XP and Vista are no longer supported by Microsoft which basically means any security updates are not being programmed for installation.
Also, the difference between 3D/4D is that they install in the root directory of your computer. Starting with 5D, the software engineers built the software to conform to Microsoft's library, documents and folder structure. I don't believe 3D/4D installs in the Program X86 directory like all other newer software does.

2017-11-29T18:39:41+00:00 After all my searching hither and yon I phoned HUS again--the first call was a blunt "we no loner support 5D but this time knowledgeable person asked if the 5D logo was on the tool bar--it was--she said to remove it and a miracle happened. All the software now opens and it was that simple! Spread the word! Betty

Can you do a screenshot of what logo you are talking about? That makes absolutely no sense to me.

2017-11-29T21:21:28+00:00 doesn't make sense to me either,,but it works.I phoned Hus for help and they sent me to software. I have 5D and the logo with it is a red 5 with a capital D. you would need that program for this to work.If you have a problem ask for the software help.B
