I agree, I having the same trouble and I can't seem to get Viking support to help me.
compatability of Windows 10 with embroidery software, 4D Embroidery, in particular?
I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to Windows10. The main use for this computer, is sewing/embroidery software, 4D Embroidery. Is W 10 going to run that software satisfactorily?

2018-01-03T00:00:49+00:00 Thank you for your comprehensive reply to my question. I will save it for future reference. My problem was solved by my second phone call to HUS and this time I was sent to software where the woman instantly fixed it! I have the 5D program and she asked if the logo was on the task bar. It was and she said to take it off. When I did all the designs opened!! As simple as that. They still open and the odd time when the logo appears I remove it and carry on. This doesn't make sense but---in the future if there is a problem be sure to ask for the software dept. as they obviously know what to do. Many thanks for your time,Betty

2018-01-02T10:52:42+00:00 The problem with dongle compatibility with Windows10 is due to a driver issue. This is how I resolved the problem. FYI, I updated the dongle driver prior to reinstalling 4D but this may be necessary.
So, this is how I did it:
1. Google search for HASP driver.
2. Find HASP sentinel downloads GEMALTO
3 Select - Sentinel HASP/LDK-windows GUI Run-time installer
4. Accept the licence agreements
5. Download - Sentinel_LDK_Run-time_setup.zip
6. Close all the embroidery software and UNZIP the zipfile
7. Double-click on HASPUserSetup.exe, This will remove old drivers and install new ones.
- Restart computer and open 4D. The dongle should now work and you can then use 4D normally.
