I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to Windows10. The main use for this computer, is sewing/embroidery software, 4D Embroidery. Is W 10 going to run that software satisfactorily?

I too aving trouble with the HUS programs--they tell me I have to pay over $1,000 to get the Premier program which I wouldn't use. So I am stuck with the Diamond and the Epic and can't access the designs on Windows 10 and neither HUS nor Microsoft is able to help--HUS just dismisses the problem and Windows spent hours trying to help but obviously didn't have any idea what to do. I am very cross with both outfits. Betty
I just installed 4D on my Windows 10 desktop. I did have to download an updated driver for the Hasp dongle. You can find it here: https://sentinelcustomer.gemalto.com/DownloadNotice.aspx?dID=8589947119
Scroll to the bottom, click accept, download the file (you may have to check if you have pop up blocker on - I did), then run the file.
I was then able to open up 4D.
Thank you so much for sharing this information - I have windows 10 now. I went and found the Hasp download (for me this was at this link http://www.premierplusembroidery.com/en/Support/Software-Help . I had my dongle in all the time whilst I was getting this download, but don't know if that was necessary. I then inserted my 4D CD and ran it and this time it installed and now I am using the software. I do hope this helps more users to realise they can use their software with Windows 10.
You can install bootcamp or parallels on your Mac to run a simulated version of Windows. You purchase that directly from Apple. I haven't heard of anyone having problems running either of those programs. Not sure why Apple would frown on something they sell.
I've been sick since i purchased my SE brand new $10,000.a calamity of errors and poor salesman ship from my dealer! a lot of lies to get the sale, in Geneva, IL. I am now an apple user,as of 1 year ago...sick of all the viruses and $$$$ for repairs and virus protection over 16 years, that doesn't protect. Including wasting $$ on purchases of new lap tops as a result of viruses freezing up....I tried to keep my last HP laptop alive just for 4D use as it has windows 7! just took a crap.. and i cannot and will not split my APPLE/MAC just to use the 4D. Because, installing microsoft.. i need to ad virus protection and the draws viruses. Defeats my purpose of purchasing a MAC ! APPLE DOES FROWN ON THIS,ALSO. AND IT'S NOT FREE, YOU PAY THEM TO MAKE THE CHANGE.
since i purchased my SE brand new, had so many issues, I vowed to never purchase another viking. i have $ thrown in on designs and fav embroidery designs, i will no longer be able to use. The last 10+ years of my life have become voided. I'M SICK
