Solitaire on Windows 10

Yes that is what I said. Once you sign in either via the gamertag or  your Microsoft account it signs you into the game automatically after that.

Or you can use one of the many different versions of Solitaire available free from the Store that are not Xbox apps.

What do you mean you "have to sign in to use it?" That only applies to Xbox for PC versions of games so far as I know and there are many other versions of Solitaire you could download from the store that do not require that program to run.

Microsoft Solitaire Collection is an Xbox app, and in Windows 10 it annoys users with a pop-up to sign in with an Xbox gamertag (or to use a Microsoft account to create an Xbox gamertag) at every start-up.

You could buy the ad-free version from the Microsoft Store. Microsoft Solitaire has been gone since Windows 8.1 came out. It was not pulled via Windows 10.

The idea that we should have to buy an application preinstalled with and by the operating system separate from the operating system (or the computer it's preinstalled on) is evil.  That we should have to buy such a program separate from the purchase that installed it in order to remove a feature makes it a scam.  Until Windows 10, it was a racket restricted to Microsoft OEM partners and third-party trialware and adware that is completely unknown outside the Microsoft Windows ecosystem.

The availability of competing solitaire applications does not negate the problem that Microsoft have brought here into Windows 10.

Is it that you people just do not know how to use a "Search Engine"?
