Perhaps we card players should still get some credit for owning homes when we do and for being responsible renters when we are.  Give us some credit for being PC purchasers, of using Microsoft's product, of purchasing the retail product when it's needed.  Don't you think folks know by now who owns Windows?

Everyone knows you don't get to use the product if you don't click on I Accept.  It's that simple, so who bothers reading the EULA anymore.  Everyone should, then they would know that Microsoft can now lay claim to every Windows system that was upgraded to Windows 10.  Microsoft will do to the system what they feel is necessary, whether we like it or not.

There are big differences in Solitaire players and your regular old game head.  The game heads spend a lot, lot, lot more money than we card players spend.  The game heads get catered to by Microsoft.  We Solitaire players get advertisements.  We Solitaire players have those game heads living in our garages and we get advertisements. :-)

What should be a slap in the face is no games with the Windows 10 free upgrade.  Then comes the November fall "update" and then there is a game folder.  Microsoft uninstalls the old Windows Solitaire and other games and substitutes games that have advertisements.  Solitaire was not included with the new games, but I would bet there were millions of feed back forms to add Solitaire back to the operating system.  Microsoft did what it did.

Thanks, Kerry for posting this.  I was able to search msgames_win8_x64.msi and download all the games, which INCLUDES Solitaire.  I think the point MS seems to be missing is this:  There are many things on a computer that many of us consider personal and should not be tampered with.  It is tantamount to theft! 

When you hire someone to paint the rooms in your house, you do expect to come home and enjoy the fresh new look, but you also have every right to expect the painters not to throw two or three of your favorite paintings in the garbage!

Your analogy fails because you don't own the operating system.  If you were renting an apartment and if the landlord painted it and removed pictures from the wall that belonged to him, all in accordance with the terms of the lease you signed,  you couldn't very well consider it "tantamount to theft."  You have a license to use the OS in accordance with the terms of the EULA.
