Windows 10 - VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE igdkmd64.sys

It's frustrating when they don't provide updates for hardware. I think it's a ploy to sell more computers.

My "experience" with Lenovo, is about the same. Finding any support on their site is not gonna work, sending an e-mail ... no e-mail address to be found :-((  => sending a 'Contact' message (5-6 weeks ago!) and ..... still no reply whatsoever. @Björn : Expecting a solution from MS in it self is logical, reading the remark about the Windows Surface having the same problem. Looking at (my) Lenovo: I think it isn't to be ruled out that there is a combination of factors involved. My son has also a Lenovo laptop, also working with W-10 and he ... doesn't have any (second) display problems ... !??? But ! Also true: the problem is there and indeed: for quite sometime. So 'yes' the problems needs a fix by now.

Microsoft support has been available and somewhat helpful! Though I thought a complete reinstall was a bit harsh, and took about 90 min, the level 2 tech did spent the other 90 minutes trying to "fix" the issue. He concluded that the problem was with Lenovo not having a Windows 10 Driver for the Intel Graphics card (see earlier post). When you go to Lenovo support center and search for drivers for the M57p Desktop (think center) there is no driver for Windows 10. The error I get from the freeze, black screen is related to a "Vista" driver (strange!!). When the system can not recover I get the blue screen of death with the Video_TRD_Failure...). It is not right that Lenovo can not keep up with Windows upgrades! Yes the Desk Top was made in 2011, but not everyone can afford to buy a New System every year or two!

Lenovo et al, are all the same. 

I have a i3-2100 rig and finding a BIOS update for the motherboard was equally problematic, at least now it's working with UEFI properly, originally it was not working properly.

I am using the driver on Windows update and so far it has been stable using the Sandy Bridge graphics.

Thanks for the Sandy Bridge Information. I will have to open the Desktop and see if the Video Card is integrated into the motherboard if it is I can spend $25-$50 and get a card to fit the expansion port and be done with Lenovo forever. :)
