Ever since i have upgraded to Windows 10 these failures happen at random times throughout the day. Mostly when i am playing a game but also has happened when watching Netflix. I have checked and updated all of my drivers and everything is up to date.

Sometimes it says VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR, this one is not as often. I have looked online and tried almost everything people have said are solutions and nothing works, and there and almost no solved posts for this problem on windows 10 only for 8.1 and 7. The only way I can recreate the problem is by opening Hearthstone, other than that it is completely random and really annoying.

PLEASE HELP

When I dock my laptop from an undocked state and then start using the laptop with my 3 monitor configuration, I randomly experience the new, improved BSOD with this message, "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart it for you. (x% complete) If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error: VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (igdkmd64.sys)."

I never experience this problem when the laptop is undocked.

My configuration: Dell Latitude 6440 laptop, Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit (Build 10240), Intel Core i7 x64, 8GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4600, 512GB SSD.

Besides the external fan, I also updated the drivers using the  intel driver as detailed in this video.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uwrP3-lbuo

My driver I downloaded* for my Surface Pro 3  is this file from the intel website: win64_154010.4300.zip download

*You must choose the correct "generation" (gen-4 for my surface) of the CPU and the correct 32/64 bit Win10 platform.

I installed on 12/15/15  After the install, device manager reports that my driver is v.20.19.15.4300 released 10/1/2015.  I have had no thermal problems with this driver, and it has been very stable. Although the case feels much cooler, I kept my external fan, however because cooler is better, IMHO.

Some interesting "problems" arise because the Intel driver has a configuration applet called the "Intel HD Graphics Control Panel" that offers a suite of fine tuning options but it wants to compete with the native windows  display settings.  Once you use this applet to set the Intel driver correctly (and by correctly I mean match settings on both the native display setting and the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel) it works well.  The Intel HD Graphics Control Panel gives you many settings for performance, 3D and color settings.  I read each setting, adjusted for peak performance in 3D, and it has not given me any problems.

Mileage may vary, use at your own risk, may void warranty, etc.

Any suggestion how to the tempo? I rather doubt that MS has installed a sensor on the video chip, but maybe I'm wrong. Several weeks without BSOD.

video card sensors are usually monitored by the driver if at all

As an update to my problem, I wiped my SP3 hard drive and installed Windows 10 Pro from USB media. So far, I have had zero crashes or BSOD errors. I've been playing several games and none of them have had problems. I've also noticed a distinct decrease in CPU usage since the re-install of my OS. Either there was something wrong with a driver/drivers or the OS upgrade wasn't good. Either way, I'm happy that this issue is gone for me.
