Groove Music not finding local files

Same here!

It seems mine is also not updating new additions in local folders. Ive put the music files in several places including the cloud and groove is not recognizing them no matter where i put them, including the places it says its looking. i feel like a 'refresh the list' button would be helpful.

-also tried hitting the reset under settings, it did nothing.

On my desktop, Groove music is not finding any of my local music files that I have in the folders I have added (mostly my existing iTunes folders).  I've tried resetting the app but still no luck.  Grabbing my OneDrive files with no problem.

Any thoughts?

I had the same problem.  I went to the folder where the music is, and clicked on the properties tab.  Then went to the Sharing tab.  Once I enabled the sharing feature, all my music showed up.  Hope this helps.

I was experiencing the same issue as all above until I tried Sharing the folder with myself. I shut down Groove and restarted it and it started to populate my music into the catalogue. Thanks!

yea i'm having similar problem with it. All my music is stored locally on an external microSD on my Surface Pro 3. Groove music isn't detecting any of them and not populating the catalogue. Cortana can still play them when I tell her to tho. I've tried all the suggestions here to no avail; moved the files, folder, even placed them on the desktop and readded the To Watch list. I've even shared the files to myself. I hope they look into it real soon, coz its such a downer for me, even thought everything else is good with the new Windows.
