On my desktop, Groove music is not finding any of my local music files that I have in the folders I have added (mostly my existing iTunes folders). I've tried resetting the app but still no luck. Grabbing my OneDrive files with no problem.
Any thoughts?

I keep all my music on a NAS drive and groove music couldn't find it.
I keep a backup of my music on a portable USB drive. Groove could only find a small portion of the music on the External HD until I shared the music folder with myself and restarted Groove. Now I can see all of my music, but I have to leave my external HD plugged into.
Anyone had luck getting Groove to recognize a NAS drive?
yea i'm having similar problem with it. All my music is stored locally on an external microSD on my Surface Pro 3. Groove music isn't detecting any of them and not populating the catalogue. Cortana can still play them when I tell her to tho. I've tried all the suggestions here to no avail; moved the files, folder, even placed them on the desktop and readded the To Watch list. I've even shared the files to myself. I hope they look into it real soon, coz its such a downer for me, even thought everything else is good with the new Windows.
I had the same problem. I went to the folder where the music is, and clicked on the properties tab. Then went to the Sharing tab. Once I enabled the sharing feature, all my music showed up. Hope this helps.
I was experiencing the same issue as all above until I tried Sharing the folder with myself. I shut down Groove and restarted it and it started to populate my music into the catalogue. Thanks!

I had the same problem. I went to the folder where the music is, and clicked on the properties tab. Then went to the Sharing tab. Once I enabled the sharing feature, all my music showed up. Hope this helps.
