Age of empires II won't work via windows 10

So I was playing age of empires II other day while using windows 7 well upgraded today to windown 10 and now it won't run the start up menu starts but I click play now ... and nothing.how can I fix it

    I'm glad this worked for someone. It just didn't work for me. 

    I just learned that Microsoft is intending to release AoE IV on December 30, 2017.
